My dad works in PA, can I get instate tuition at PSU?

So I am applying to Pennsylvania State University - University Park. I noticed for a lot of colleges that you can still get in state tuition if a parent is employed in that state and pays that states income taxes. My dad has worked in King of Prussia, PA for the past 5 years. Will this allow me to qualify for in-state tuition?

While I don't know for sure, it seems like Penn State requires that your parent be a resident of the state - that is, they need to actually live in the state as their primary place of residence. So, if your dad actually lives in PA, you may have a shot, but if he drives to work in KOP from another state, you probably won't be considered in-state.

Call the Admissions Office. Usually the rule of thumb is that the STUDENT must have graduated HS in the state and lived there at least 2 years. So your dad's job in PA would not be enough. But in case I am wrong, call the Admissions Office.

    Call and ask.

If anything, could you move there to get instate?
