    Evaluate: 10x-6y , if x=0.9 and y= 2.5

    10*.9 - 6*2.5

    9-15

    = -6

    10 x means 10 multiplied by x

    as x = 0.9 multiplying 10 by the value of x (0.9) we get

    10 x = 10 *0.9 = 9

    similarly with y

    6y = 6* 2.5 = 15

    Hence your answer is = -6

    As 9 - 15 = -6

    Multiply/divide before addition/subtraction.

    Multiply 10 by 0.9 to get 9, then multiply 6 by 2.5 to get 15, and finally subtract 15 from 9 to get -6.

    Just plug the given values of x and y into the equation and multiply and subtract.

    10(.9)-6(2.5)

    =9-15

    =-6
