Getting rid of askcom.info?!?
My laptop has been taken over by one of these phishing sites like snap.do only it's called askcom.info and nobody seem to know how to get rid of it. I've changed all my online setting and looked through my 'uninstall programs' page and there is nothing more I can delete but when I restart my computer it's back again.
Any idea of how I can get rid of this thing?

Check in the Plug-ins and Extensions of your browser and see if you can find anything related to the sites and uninstall it. Try a third party uninstaller like "IObit Uninstaller" or "CCleaner" and see whether it detects it. The noob way to solve the issue is to do a system restore to a date before the phishing started. You won't loose any data but all the major changes you made to the system will be restored. I said its a noob way because system restore is a very necessary tool but not for this kinda issues.

HI,
Run ATF-Cleaner and CCcleaner, free sharewares available on internet for download, in your system for broken registry links , clearing cache and temporary internet files etc.
Good Luck.
