Christmas decorating for a small apartment?

So it's almost time to start decorating for Christmas, but I live in a small one bedroom apartment. I already have a Christmas tree with all the decorations. I am going to get some red slip covers for my couchs, but I don't know what else I can do? I'm looking for different ideas to hang from the ceiling or on the wall because I have little ones that will mess it up.

Go to hobby lobby and the dollar store and get a inexpensive decorated christmas wreath, christmas stockings and garland and wrap with a small string of mini lights. Hang the wreath on the wall and swag the garland along the wall under the wreath, then hang a christmas stocking inbetween each swag on the garland, -sort of what you see on fireplaces

Walmart has these really cute christmas pillow/throw blanket sets, something nice and festive for the sofa and the kids would also like them and not told hands off : ) http://www.walmart.com/ip/Holiday-Pillow-and-Throw...

If you can put small nails in the walls you could get some pine garland (inexpensive at the craft stores this time of year) and hang it in shallow swags along the top of the walls around the room. You could string them with small lights and/or hang additional decorations from them or tuck in imitation flowers and berries and pinecones. Everything will be up out of the way of the little ones, and give your room a cohesive look and dress up an area that most people don't think to decorate. I do it every year and everyone always loves the look.

Uppercase Living has a ton of cute Christmas décor! Their vinyl wall decals can go on any surface, not just walls, and they also sell accessories to put them on like the one in the picture.
