What Office Suite do I buy for my new Microsoft Surface Pro?

I just ordered my Surface Pro on ebay and it should be shipped within a few days but I need to have an Office Suite that is compatible with Surface Pro? Does anyone know where I can buy this for cheap or which one I actually need. I know it comes with it but you have to buy it separate to get full access after 6 months. Thank you

    From the question you do not say if your new machine is a replacement for an existing one. If you have a version of Office on the machine your are replacing - take the Office off your old machine and install it on your replacement. It should work.

    If i am right - Surface Pro runs on W8 or 8.1. The Office you are currently using may run on earlier versions of Windows. If you try to install a program on 8 or 8.1 you might find you have to adjust the compatibility settings - but it will work.

    I am currently using Office 2007 on W8.1 with no problems.

    If you want a different cheaper version of Office - I also use Open Office - and again it works well.

    Hope that helps

    Open Office is free and works on Windows 8. It has loads of plug ins as well.

    http://www.openoffice.org/

    http://sourceforge.net/

    It will open, edit ans save as all MS Office file extensions.

    Theres also Libre Office, again free open source software;
