What do you think of the name Edith for a girl?
I love old-fashioned, vintage names, and one that I especially love is Edith. I also think the nickname Edie is adorable.
I feel like it's on the edge of being usable or not, so I'm curious to see what others think.
Thanks!

I think it's totally usable!! I adore it.
I was never really one that was into the old fashioned names. But lately I've been falling for all of these clunky, old-fashioned names that have brilliant, quirky nicknames, Edith being my very favorite in that category (among others like Agnes, Frances, Penelope, and others for boys as well).
I think Edith is absolutely adorable, and Edie as well. Definitely usable, no doubt about it. Things that are farrrr less usable are being used, and children are growing up just fine. Haha, Edith is one of the best options in my opinion.
I think somewhat that pop culture influences names. Obviously, Twilight names took off after that wretched book came out. I anticipate that some of these old fashioned names that I have learned to love will become somewhat popular because they've been used in things like movies and books. Bonnie in Toy Story 3, Edith, Agnes, and Margo in Despicable Me... I fear that the light has been shined on them and that they'll no longer be our hidden treasures. And I really hope that doesn't happen. Because I think they are all wonderful names, and the only thing I dislike as much as a trendy or made up name is an overused name...
And as of yet, Edith is definitely not overused. And I hope it stays that way. It's such a great name. Definitely usable.

I love old-fashioned name that don't sound old. Edith sounds vintage but still pretty and girly. Its an actual name, its beautiful, and uncommon I'd say its definitely usable.

I used to hate it, but it has been growing on me lately. In fact, I have Edith Anastasia in my top 5.
Edith is the type of name that is an acquired taste. You either love it or you don't.

I adore the name Edith. It's a beautiful, classic name. I have it as a middle name for Joanna on my own name list.
