What england team do u think will win the next ashes test?
The main thing was that ENG couldn't play the short ball and don't have fast bowlers swann wasn't doing any danger with the ball aswell. I really think that chris tremlett should go out and steven finn should be in there this is my team : alastir cook, michael carberry, kevin pietersen, ian bell, joe root, jonny bairstow, matt prior, stuart broad, steven finn james anderson monty panasar.

In Australia the ball tends to bounce off a fuller length and in Harris, Siddle and Johnson Australia have three fast bowlers who can exploit that length, Brett Lee was the same, in English conditions he was fast but rarely looked a world beater, in Australia however it was different. By contrast in English conditions the ball needs to be pitched shorter to get that kind of bounce. Their batsmen are used to that length, England's batsmen by contrast aren't and it always takes a Test or two to acclimatise to it.
There's no doubt that Finn can bowl fast, but his problem is with his run-up. When he's on song it clicks and he can bowl genuinely fast, and can deliver a sudden spell where he'll take several wickets and if not cause problems, even if otherwise he is bowling junk. But if he loses the run-up then he tends to lose a few MPH in delivery and that's too big a risk in tight matches and/or where there are only three other front-line bowlers. Finn's problem is two fold - he needs the long run-up because he's physically not strong enough to muscle the ball down off a shorter run, but going off the longer run he tends to decelerate as he approaches the crease on account of his gangling height, if he doesn't decelerate then he simply loses control at delivery. England tried to get him to bowl off a shorter run in the NZ Test series before the Ashes but it was at the expense of the extra pace which he needs as he doesn't swing or seam the ball around much. Against Australia at Trent Bridge in the first Test he reverted to the longer run-up but bowled with a total lack of rhythm and nearly gave the match away by bowling short pitched rubbish that Brad Haddin smoked around the park.
England only play four bowlers so it is imperative that each does a job - and they played Tremlett at the Gabba because he offered control something which Finn hadn't offered in any of the prep games even if he had more wickets.
I'd expect Bresnan to replace Tremlett and Bell to bat three.
