Is it over complicated to have more than one villain in a book?

I'm trying to write a story and at the moment, I've got two (maybe three) different villains who are working independently of each other, each with their own schemes and goals. Is this going to be too complicated?

I think it would make it better! That way your main character or characters have more challenges to overcome and that will make them stronger!

Honestly, it makes the story better. It adds more obstacles to surpass through. You can either have them teamed up together or just separate Villains. Whatever, it would be awesome cause usually stories have villains with a "gang".

No way! I think it adds to the suspense!

Maybe a "kinda" copycat or something...

OR, they know each other and work together, yet independently to throw off investigators

I don't think so. My guilty pleasure are the Sookie Stackhouse novels (True Blood,) and there is every type of villain imaginable.

If you want my point of view, I will say it isn't really all that bad...as long as the villan has some tradgedy that brings it down to one villan around the climax.
