How do guys feel when the girl pulls back in the relationship?
My boyfriend and I have been dating for over a year, he's'in engineering and I know it's'a super demanding program so I give him a lot of space, especially during exam time. However, I feel neglected. Whenever I need comforting, all he says is "sorry" and that's'all I get. Not a 5 minute phone call, not anything more comforting than a stupid "sorry" that really doesn't do anything.
I decided to pull back, and give him even more space because now, I need space. How do guys feel when girls do that? I didn't break up with him.

Drifting away from a relationship even if you love that person is normal in people. Right now he is vulnerable and the last thing he needs is you leaving him. Sure he isn't calling or meeting you, but he needs to pull back, otherwise he would feel like he is losing himself, that he isn't losing his sense of self ,life and independence. You need to remind yourself why you loved him and recognize that a man needs space is entirely normal. The space becomes smaller and eventually he will be ready to commit.
Sometimes the way you communicate with him can cause him to become even more distant to you.
