Silent Hill: What is it all about?
Its about Silent Hill game series first of all, and then Im a big fan of Horror Games and the reviews regarding this series made me to try the Origins part but i didn't get even a single thing. Like when i tried Resident Evil 4 it took just 1 part to make me understand the whole story, like what Leon is onto, who Ada works for, the concept and story all the things, but when it comes to Silent Hill its just.... I mean what's the Motive, Concept and Story?? I've heard that its about an Orphanage where some chile gets killed strangely and the story goes around but when i checked up on net it was totally different and confusing and the Movies are also based on a different piller maybe, it doesn't have similarity between movie and game series. So, Can you just tell me the whole story, STORY i mean, even the hint of the concept would be great..

Basically Silent Hill was built on hallowed ground containing "native gods" and a local religious cult called The Order has since been trying to resurrect the main god through whatever means. In Silent Hill Origins, the leader of the cult sacrifices her psychic daughter in an attempt to summon the god. In the original Silent Hill, which takes place 7 years after, the surviving reincarnation of the original child (it's complicated) is given the same treatment. Same thing all over in Silent Hill 3 (the three games form a sort of trilogy).
Every other game, with the exception of maybe Silent Hill 2 and Downpour, involves The Order to some degree and their attempts at ushering some sort of divine apocalypse to cleanse the world.
The protagonist is usually a troubled or guilt-ridden character who must attain catharsis by going through Silent Hill and its custom-made hell. Silent Hill 2 is entirely about the protagonist's journey to redemption. Downpour is the same deal. Games like Origins and SH3 delve in this, but the main plot involves stopping The Order.
