If everything unfolds according to God's plan, why did God's plan involve damning most of humanity?

Seems like a crappy plan.

Update:

@Simple Jack: If the only way to heaven is through accepting Jesus as one's Lord and savior, and most of humanity is not now, nor has it historically been Christian, then clearly most of humanity will be damned as a consequence.

If you don't hold this belief, then the question isn't directed to you. Most Christians accept this doctrine.

Update 2:

@Pearlr: Either everything unfolds according to God's plan or you can change it. You cannot have it both ways.

That's the price one pays when worshiping a blood thirsty god. Clue one is in the OT. The smell of blood pleases that god. I will never understand why so many try to justify blood lust. It's sad......and scary when you put serious thought into it. Of course, most of the followers won't.

"Most" will be damned? I'm curious how you know that. You've got God's almanac or something?

    - I don't believe you understand everything Scripture says about being saved. *Directly* rejecting Christ does leave one damned. But active faith in Christ is not the only means of salvation. It makes no sense whatsoever, for example, that those who never heard of Christ are automatically damned.

We are not dammed. One thing impossible for God to do is to lie or violate his own laws. (Titus 1:2; Num. 23:19) Knowing this about God was no doubt one of the reasons Satan went after Eve before she had children.

Immediately after Adam's sin, God took steps to restore humanity to fulfill his established purposes of perfection. Genesis 3:15 tells what would happen requiring time for this to be done. Shedding blood, also according to God's law forgives sin. By Jesus being sent to Earth as a perfect human and just as important, by Jesus volunteering to leave his position in heaven to come here and sacrifice his perfect life, all of humanity could be brought back into perfection. Providing they are willing to take advantage of this by obeying God's word, the Bible.

Not everyone would accept or use this provision. This is seen from Psalms 37:9-11, 29, 34. Adam, Eve and all descendants were only promised life on this Earth under paradise conditions. Life in heaven was never part of the deal. Psalms shows the wicked humans would be killed off. The meek or righteous people would live forever on this earth. Very much an individual decision about who a person would serve as their god or God.

Many scriptures, such as Isaiah or Revelation foretell the terrific living conditions after Satan's system with all the wicked people are gone. For instance, Revelation 21:4 shows no more need for crying from pain. Not even death or any sickness will be any more.

So God has not caused us pain or suffering. He has provided a dramatic relief from all that. Did I mention the promise of a resurrection back to life of those who died in God's memory by their obedience to him? So everyone properly worshiping God wins.

Because thats HIS plan not yours Think about it; God says that man's heart is desperately wicked Jer 17:9 and that man meditates on evil continually Gen 6:5 So why should God save any of us? It's his sovereign right to show mercy on some rebels, spareing them the punishment they so justly deserve and leaving the others to damnation that they too deserve.

We condemn or deliver ourselves through our own choices. God should, and fairly, could not be blamed for our bad choices.

(Galatians 6:7, 8) Do not be misled: God is not one to be mocked. For whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap; 8 because he who is sowing with a view to his flesh will reap corruption from his flesh, but he who is sowing with a view to the spirit will reap everlasting life from the spirit.

just because the religously righteous condemn all of humanity

    doesnt mean god does

theres a verse in their bible

    i believe Acts

it says believe in the lord jesus christ and YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD shall be saved

so according to the judeo christian bible

as long as one soul in a bloodline has come to christ

it IS gods PROMISE to that soul

that their entire household shall be saved

    so youre not damned

Nothing unholy will enter Heaven; and whosoever will may come, and drink of the water of LIfe freely...if they repent of their sins and receive Christ as their Saviour.

Whose fault is it if they reject Christ, and God's offer of eternal life?
