I need a workout routine?

I'm looking for a way to gain muscle, not lose weight. I generally eat pretty well, and never eat a lot of crap or anything. I don't have a pullup bar, but I have a general weight bunch that offers a variety of possibilities. However, I don't have an effective routine, and was hoping someone could help me. I'd appreciate a schedule (reps/time, and days) as well as the exercises themselves. Thanks!

anything you lift will give you muscle. I'm a senior citizen and have been instructed to put cans of food into a bag and raise it, or fill milk plastic cartons with water and lift those. No routine is needed, just choose a different movement each time, anything you can create and do it several times. Also walk steps, and while doing that bring those plastic cartons filled with water up and down the stairs. There are small weights in places like Walmart that are 5 lbs, 10 lbs, etc. but surely a bag of kitty litter or something else would suffice. It might be good if you have someone knowledgeable about exercise stop over to your place and explain to you how you could hurt yourself doing certain exercises, not warming up, doing it too many times, etc. Those instructions are also on the internet. If you can do push-ups those are good too, or lifting upward on your arms.

Use the Nike Training Club app. You burn serious calories and get sweaty after 20 minutes of it. It's like having your own personal trainer. Try it.
