Is my furnace bad ? I get conflicting reports from each repairman?

It appears to be less than 5yrs. old and has been checked 3times in as many days. each professional criticized the previous one's work. The first replaced the filter, the second replaced the thermostat battery the third checked for leaks, cracks and water damage( found none) and said we had too many vents for the warm air to reach the living space where the thermostat measures the temp. however in the billing report he said we had too few vents recommends installing more! the unit works fine when they are here but every night it shuts off and the temp drops below 60f and will only blow out cool air. I've tried auto and manual settings. I don't even know where to start the next step but I am learning not to take everyone's word at face value. I welcome any guidance or shared experience.

If it is only around 5 years old it should be good. Maybe your flame sensor needs to be cleaned. If the sensor does not detect a flame after a few trys it will lock out. Mine has done that in the past and blew out cool air.

This is not to technical but could your thermostat be set to save energy at night? I have mindset to drop to 68 at 11 pm. Maybe set it and hit the Hold button.

Are all the dampers open? Hope this helped a little.

I doubt the furnace is bad it sounds more like a bad location of the thermostat ask about moving it to a better location away from heat sources like television sets they produce a lot of heat and can give off false readings causing it to kick on and off

Sounds to me your problem arises when its working the hardest at night.Your furnace is new enough it should have a diagnostic light on it that would indicate what its tripping out on. That's the place to start. It may be a part that is just working intermittently.Such as a pressure switch that may have a high resistance on the contacts.Knowing your model may have helped as far as knowing what type of controls you have.
