How did Peter find neverland?

I have always loved the movie Peter pan and I was wondering, is there anything that says his back story? How did he find never land?

    Tinkerbell took Peter Pan to Neverland when he was young. Once Peter has returned from Neverland, his parents were taking care of a new baby so he thought they had forgotten about him. This is why he decided to stay in Neverland for the rest of his life.
