If the NFL is so concerned about player safety, why do they have Thursday night games every week of the season?
They ask two teams every week to play a game on Thursday, giving the players 3 days to recover from playing on the previous Sunday.
I can see the Thanksgiving Day games, being an NFL tradition each year, but Thursday games EVERY week of the season? Isn't this giving lip service to the player's safety? Do we really need games on Thursday?

It's more like four days. These guys play a game for a living. I think they can handle it.

As another poster suggested, it's all about getting programming for the NFL Network. But the participating teams get 10 days until their next Sunday game.

Oh please, Hockey games are just as violent and they play multiple times a week. These teams don't even play that many games. They should play two games a week so us fans get more football action!
If you want to look at it from another perspective, they only get 4 days for the Thursday game, but 10 days for the next game.

Without games every Thursday night no one will subscribe to their NFL network channel. It's all about the money. I'm pretty sure just about every fan is against games on Thursday because they don't have access. The NFL wants you to pay to see your favorite team play one game a year on their channel. Most every Thursday night game looks sloppy without the normal amount of time to prepare. Clearly this shows that the NFL cares more about money than player safety.

People work EVERY DAY. I don't want to hear millionaires complain about two football games a week. You grow up playing every day and always want to play every day.
