I want to make fudge?

But there's just the two of us and I don't want to throw a bunch away. I have a boxed version to make it. Is there anything else I can do with it? Will it last in the mail? Could I send it out to people?

Update:

I don't have any family in the area to give it to.

Update 2:

I live in an apartment complex and don't particularly like my neighbors. They've been really rude to us. We recently moved away from where I grew up. I don't really know anyone in this town.

Update 3:

Been there* I have been nice to the neighbors. They're the ones who have been jerks to us.

Keep it in the freezer. It will last until you eat it. I keep all my candy in the freezer, I think it tastes better when frozen.

You can buy marshmallow creme and the fudge recipe is on the back of the bottle. It is good stuff. Cut it into chunks and wrap each piece in cling wrap and it will keep a long time.

There is fudge and then there is fudge. True fudge contains milk and sugar and is cooked until ... magic happens. Lots of people have tried to reproduce the magic in a more reliable format, and marshmallow creme is the best format they have found. Then there is chocolate fudge, so common that most Americans assume that chocolate is the only kind of fudge there is. I have no information about chocolate fudge, but true fudge, made from milk and sugar, is so good you will be amazed.

Fudge keeps great if it is wrapped up tight, and kept refrigerated. for weeks it lasts.

I leave it in the pan that I pour it into, I go ahead and cut it into pieces, buy I leave them in the pan in situ. Then I wrap it. That way, you are not trying to cut cold fudge.

Do something cute like the mail order houses do, and put your fudge in a tin with a lid. They sell them at Walmart, and at Old time Pottery.

do pad the counter when you pour the fudge into the tin, it can scorch the counter.

If your neighbors have been really rude, this is a good reason to give them fudge.

I'm not saying you can buy their goodwill with a plate of fudge, but it isn't going to hurt your relationshi with them.

Take some responsibilty for what goes on in your life. Try being nice to your neighbors.

So make a half recipe. And fudge keeps almost forever. Keep it an airtight container. You can probably eat it next year. Yes, you can mail it.

Do you have neighbors? It is that time of the season.....I always gave my neighbors homemade fudge for Christmas and they liked it.
