I'm worried for a friend?
A friend of mine is meeting up with a boy in a strange town she's only known for a short period of time. Like she met him on a bus, and spent a few hours with him. She wants to go to a hotel and meet up with him. She's not experienced and has never had a boyfriend. She is over 18. But I'm worried about her being alone with a guy she just met. She's not very strong, in fact she's kind of tiny and weak physically. What sort of things can we do to keep her safe? Me going isn't an option.
3 AnswersFriends7 years agoI have a cell phone question?
When a friend sends a text from Google SmS and I reply do I get charged? I have AT&T and I have unlimited texts. But when she texted me it said standard rates apply. What does this mean?
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans7 years agoHow to deal with rude person in dance class?
So these rude people sometimes come to Zumba. I'll be standing there minding my own business and they'll stand like two inches in front of me effectively forcing me to move so I don't accidentally kick them or slap them upside the head. ( Zumba is highly active dance and requires room, if not careful it's easy to run into or hit someone who's too close). But I don't want to move I was there first! Also, they block the view of the teacher. It really ticks me off. The teacher never says anything about not standing too close to someone. What should I do? Isn't it rude to ask someone to move? Should I just allow myself to run them down while dancing? I don't dance very well and stand in certain positions for a reason. I have good visibility of teacher.
6 AnswersDancing7 years agoCan you rent a car and have them pick it up from a different location?
I need to rent a car, but there isn't a car rental place where my final destination is to return said car. I have no idea what to do and I'm trying to figure it out. I really need some help. The nearest place to return a car to my destination is one hour away. Will they (enterprise) come pick the car up and if so how much extra does it usually cost?

1 AnswerAustin7 years agoHow to handle a business that overcharges?
I bought an item that was marked as $25. I ended up being over charged for the item. They charged me $32. When I returned they said the item wasn't marked correctly and really did cost $32. However, the business agreed to return the money on my card because it was their mistake. I went home, waited three days. (thank god I held on to the receipt and the tag off the item!) I looked online at my account today. They did not return the $5 they overcharged. Instead, they charged me an extra five dollars! This business owes me $10. What should I do when I go back to the store? Normally, I'm a nice person and I don't want to be rude. But $10 is a lot to overcharge someone. I don't want to let it go either. Do I print out a copy of the bank statement?Or just have it on my phone to show them?
1 AnswerSmall Business7 years agoHow to ask the landlord to fix lighting?
When I moved into my apartment there were no upstairs lights the bedrooms are completely dark. I would like to install a small light on the wall which would require two screws to be drilled into the wall. How do I approach her over this? It's a simple and fix when I'm out all they have to do is fill the two small holes. But I feel so uncomfortable asking her this. Any advice?
4 AnswersRenting & Real Estate7 years agoWhy can't complete strangers mind their own business?
I was out in public and I said something to my husband but a complete stranger replied to me. And not in a polite way. In fact it was very rude! Also someone openly made fun of me at the coffee shop for the licking some cream off my coffee. Why can't they just mind their own business? Should I say something next time? I'm tired of these jerks butting in. I don't make fun of them, so why are they rude to me?do these bratty kids not know proper manners?
2 AnswersOther - Society & Culture7 years agohow to know when someone is being sarcastic and making fun of you behind your back?
Sometimes I can tell, sometimes I can't. LIke someone will say something to me with a straight face and then I'll hear from another friend that they were laughing and making fun of me behind my back. How do I stay away from these types of scenarios? The person who does this is a close family member so cutting them out of my life isn't an option. But I hate it when she acts this way. It's so hurtful!
1 AnswerEtiquette7 years agoWhat is a great tennis book?
The person I might buy the book for loves tennis. He's slightly obsessed with it. He has been playing for about four years. So he needs an advanced book, not one for beginners. Is there an amazing book out there that isn't $40 plus? I'm looking more for around $10-20.
4 AnswersTennis7 years agowhy is 40% of food being wasted in the US?
I recently read an article that stated up to 40% of our food in the US simply trashed. Over $165 billion each year is lost due to food going bad before we use it. Why are grocery stores over stocking their shelves if they know it will never sell and will be thrown away? Why are there so many starving people in this country and yet billions of pounds of unused food tossed in the garbage? Isn't obvious that they would have an idea (the farmers, grocery stores, etc) of how much is sold of something to give them a good idea of how much to buy? (based off of yearly statistics) Also, why aren't food companies donating some of this food to food banks? I read in the same article that if a name is slightly misspelled, or if they miss an ingredient in the food on the label it is thrown away. A poor starving person isn't going to care if something is misspelled they'll be grateful for the food. grocery stores shouldn't and don't need to throw away food that's on it's sell buy date, some of those items stay good longer and could be donated to feed the poor. (yes, if there's obvious mould it should be tossed, but I've had day old bread and it was fine). Also apparently if a fruit or veggie is too big or too small they can't sell it either, and these things are still picked and then thrown away, why not donate those items to feed the starving. There are millions of people in the US that are starving and they weren't going to buy those silly over priced items anyways so it doesn't even affect the business aspect.

3 AnswersEthnic Cuisine7 years agoAm I being selfish with Christmas?
so, normally, I am an extremely giving person. I enjoy buying gift for others. In the last two years I've spend well over $500 on gifts for everyone. I rarely forget a birthday or Christmas, and they always seem to forget me. Last Christmas, I spent like over $300 on gifts and another $100 or so on shipping. I put in so much effort. But no one ever sends me a gift back. Even on my birthday they don't even call me to wish me a happy birthday. I know the holiday is about giving and I kind of feel like I've given more than my fair share. Some of these people are close friends (people I've been friends with for 5 plus years). Some of them are family members, some are in bad financial situations and I can understand why they can't do much. But others are doing great financially and could afford to at least send a card or homemade cookies (most of them know how to bake and are decent cooks). Some of them never even call me anymore, I'm the one calling them all the time. It's beginning to feel like a one sided relationship, or like I'm just being used. Is it selfish to just start cutting people off who aren't making an effort to be my friend? And it isn't just about gifts, it's the fact that they never write, or call, or show any effort at all.

6 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years agoI have a complicated math problem?
say a person borrows $40,000 at 15% interest. This isn't simple interest. It's the other type compound. The person makes $800 a month payments. How long should it take to completely pay off the loan?
2 AnswersMathematics7 years agoIs this illegal in Idaho?
A family member has a house. She took out a $40,000 loan from a small company in the state of Idaho. I did the math and she's paid $115,000 to this guy over the past 13 years. Yet none of it has applied to the $40,000 bill, all of it has just been the interest. She's paying 15% in interest, yet in Idaho the law states he can only charge 12%. Should she get a lawyer? Is this illegal in the state of Idaho?

3 AnswersComics & Animation7 years agoI need Christmas gift ideas?
So the kids are covered. They are done and have been for a while. My Mom and Dad are both done, I bought their gifts months ago. But I still have my sister, three female friends, my 14 year old brother, and my other brother (in 30's) and my husband to shop for. My 30 year old brother kind of made me angry so I don't really want to do too much for him for christmas but I don't want to be rude either. He never gets me anything for Christmas, so whatever it is it shouldn't be too expensive like $5-10. Last year my sister bought be huckleberry candies and food type gifts. It was a nice gift, but it kind of tells me I don't have to go too crazy on a gift for her either like maybe $20-25. One of my female friends just got married and I kind of already spent a lot of money just attending her wedding and in wedding gift. I don't want to go too crazy on her gift maybe $20-30. The other female friends I'm thinking about $15-20 should be plenty. I really have no idea what to get my younger brother for xmas. I was thinking maybe a sweater or something? What do teenage boys like? I have no idea what to get my husband, he has a tablet, a computer, a nice cell phone. I'm thinking of just saving money and giving it to him to help buy a plane ticket home to see his family? They live really far away, and he hasn't seen them in four years....Is this a silly gift? For some of the smaller gifts for friends and maybe my sister I was thinking maybe sees chocolates, or something from swiss colony or hickory farms. But are those dumb gifts? What should i get for everyone?
