Chevy 350 Acceleration problem?

I recently bought another 93 silverado with 350 tbi. I did a tune up, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, cleaned injectors, resealed the throttlebody. I checked the timing and its right on. The problem im having is when I put the pedal to the floor, the motor completely cuts out and misses a lot. No, im not putting the pedal to the floor to beat the crap out of it im just trying to figure out why its doing that. And its not happening because of something i did, On the way home from buying it, it did the same thing i just thought it needed a tune up a lot worse than i thought. I have a feeling it has something to do with the computer. The more I drive it the worse it gets. If i pull over and shut it off, turn it back on its 10 times better. I dont know much about the computer things so any clues on what i can check and how to do it would be great. Thanks

Do you have a check engine light on? Does it work properly? First step is right there.

I assume to clean the injectors, you mean you pulled them and had a fuel injector service place take care of them, since that is the only way they can be cleaned. At that time they would tell you if they were bad or not, since they can fail with age. If it works fine other than at WOT, then it's not injectors, is it?

Have you tested fuel pressure? Go to autozone, borrow their fuel pressure tester, and see if it's at spec. Anything less than 13PSI is likely to give issues. Don't listen to others, connect the checker where the flex line comes off the motor and connects to the frame rail side of the line. It's very hard to do up at the throttle body, especially since the lines are clamped in place, and if you strip those up there, you are screwed.

Did you check for vacuum leaks as well? Never hurts.

It's not your ECM/PCM, you haven't given a single reason to back that assumption up. Why would it run ok otherwise if the ECM/PCM was faulty? What is different in the ECM/PCM when you are WOT? Correct, nothing.

You didn't mention anything about replacing the fuel filter that's located along the drivers side frame rail? If you've replaced that then I would have a scanner hooked up and pull the codes. If no codes are present then you may have to bring it to a shop so a diagnostic can be performed via the data stream that the scanner shows. Other wise you could be spending a lot of money throwing parts at it when it could be something simple as a bad TPS or O2 sensor. On the other hand it could get expensive like needing your catalytic convertors replaced due to the way it's been running and if it continues to run this way your going to need them replaced soon. Good luck and hope this helps.

might take it to the parts store. most of em in my area will hook up a diagnostic tool for free and maybe pinpoint the problem. they do it for free to sell ya the part . good luck
