How can I get rid of room mates?

My husband and I signed a lease and added my friend and two children on as additional occupants. My husband and I are the primary lease holders. We also wrote that there would be two animals occupying the residence. Now we moved in she allowed her husband (whom she was separated from at time of lease signing) to move in he brought their other child and two dogs. I watch another puppy for my cousin while she works.do all together there are 7 people and 5 dogs in the 3 bedroom home. How can I get her out? She is breaking the lease by allowing her husband to stay here I'm sure the landlord wouldn't give her grief for her additional child but they came her eat all my food and she struggles giving me her part of the bills as t is . My husband and I already were being nice and paying half when we should only be responsible for 2/7 of the bills. She is taking advantage of the situation. I really would like to have this done in the nicest way possible if I leave I destroy my credit we have only been here a month. I'm in gretna la or Jefferson parish if that helps as far as the laws go. Thanks

Proper procedure must be strictly followed!

    • When the tenant breaches the lease agreement (i.e.,

failure to pay rent), the landlord must first deliver a

written Notice to Vacate to the tenant.

    • This notice gives the tenant five (5) days, not counting

    weekends or holidays, to vacate36.

    • If the tenant is not at home when the notice is given,

then the notice may be posted on the door of the leased

property. This has the same effect as delivering the

    notice to the tenant37.

    • If a tenant fails to vacate within five (5) days of notice,

then the landlord will begin eviction proceedings by

filing a petition with the justice of the peace or city

    court.

    • The eviction trial will be heard three (3) days after the

    tenant has been served39.

    • The tenant will then have to appear in court and state

why he/she should or should not be ordered to vacate

    the property40.

    • If the justice of the peace finds the landlord entitled to

evict the tenant, or if the tenant fails to appear at the

trial, then the court will rule in favor of the landlord.

    • The tenant will be ordered to vacate the property within

    twenty-four (24) hours41.

    Wow.

If you are okay with her being there still then tell her that her husband has to leave because he's not on the lease. That the landlord is not okay with so many people and animals in his rental. If you want to be totally truthful, talk to the landlord and explain the situation. Get him to agree that it is not in the best interest of his rental to have so many people there.

You can talk to her and tell her that you are not comfortable with living in such a small environment with so many people. Leaving you with two choices. One, you can get the landlord to write another lease and have you and your husband off and you'll move...or, the landlord takes her off and she leaves.

Let her know, that this is putting pressure on the relationship with your husband. That you need to make a change.

IF she can't pay bills right now, there is no way she is going to want to be the one to stay. She will have to leave.

    Good luck

Tell her you have bedbugs and she needs to pay half to get rid of them!
