Gould missed from 47 yards, but trestman made him do it when it was only 2nd down.
Whose more to blame?
@Acetone: "How can you blame the best kicker in the NFL for missing a 47 yard FG in a confusing situation?"
1. What was so confusing about the situation? You make the field goal or you miss. Simple.
2. You can always blame a kicker for missing. Simple.

In my opinion, neither one is to blame. No kicker is perfect. This is a "damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-do-not" type of situation. Had the Chicago Bears continued with their offense on 2nd and 3rd downs, there was no guarantee that the Bears would have made an easier field goal. In fact, the Bears may have possibly turned the ball over.

I blame Robbie Gould. it doesn't matter what down it is when you're kicking a field goal. That's automatic for Robbie Gould.probably wouldn't have sent him out that early but I'm not Marc Trestman

Tressman
Bears had many chances in the game to win'
you just can't blame the kicker for a bad hold or snap

Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo for signing Gould in the first place.

Even I, a 66 year old woman, would have waited until, at the least, the 3rd down.
