How many dog owners sleep with their dogs?

My French Pointer is thirteen-years-old and is my faithful companion and friend. I will cry buckets when he goes to the Great Dog Kennel in the sky! A few years back he started to sleep at the bottom of my bed and, when it got to winter, crept under the bed clothes with me. Great, it saves on heating my electric blanket! At this point I have to say that there is nothing whatsoever sexual in this arrangement.

I am just interested to know how many other dog owners sleep with their dogs and will admit to it!

Update:

Thank you for so many answers from dog owners who share their beds! I shan't feel guilty anymore!

I sleep with both of my chihuahuas under the cover in my bed.

Some people may find it weird but I love sleeping with my dogs...they're my babies!

If you're both happy having a cuddle in bed, carry on babe!

I know I'm guilty of it from time to time. Though my larger mixed breed prefers his own space, so never lasts long on the bed with me from the start anyway/ My smaller dog has found solace in sleeping under the covers. If I don't lift the covers for her, she buries her way under them. She too doesnt always last long. They come up when asked to.

My dogs don't want to sleep with me,they have their own beds and doggy cots, besides I have 5 dogs so I would need a very large bed to fit all them. Its only on rare occasions that they'll hop in bed with me,my one dog just had surgery and she turned into the biggest baby,so I now share the bed with her until she gets to feeling better.

I do not sleep with my dogs in my bed.

My dogs fart and fidget and snore loudly and make loud noises when they dream. Their stomachs make noises at times and they shed hair quite regularly. How would I ever get any sleep with all that going on?

I don`t even like sleeping with a human let alone a dog!!!!! Jmo.

My bed is my personal haven of peace and tranquility.

My German Shepherd is only allowed on my bed when I ask her to come up. She has a raised cot that she sleeps on. It has a pillow, a quilt, and another blanket on top. If it's cold I'll cover her up with her blankets. Sometimes in the morning she'll come up on my bed and rest but she generally doesn't sleep on it.

My Chihuahua sleeps with me and my Pit Bull sleeps on my bed or in his bed, whichever he chooses.

It's cold so my Pit Bull is choosing to sleep on my bed more as he enjoys my warmth. My Pit Bull Terrier has his own crate but he chooses to sleep on my bed some nights and I don't mind in the least or care honestly. In all honesty, I don't know what the hell the hype is about "rather, or rather not" a dog should sleep on your bed. It seems meaningless and pointless to me.

I personally prefer my dogs sleep in their crates as dogs tend to do some awful things to your bed if not properly trained. Young puppies will pee or poop in the bed and then sleep in it and you won't realize the surprise until in the morning. Some larger dogs will attempt to guard the bed from anyone, even you, and some dogs like to burrow which could lead to accidents especially if the dogs a small breed. I have to shake my blankets to ensure my Chihuahua isn't in them already burrowed.

I don't mind the extra warmth, and I don't have an opinion but crating or ensuring the dogs have their own beds is the best option. Sleeping with your dog comes with added issues.

Our 3yo Golden Retriever sleeps on our bed, but usually sleeps where he wants! He starts at the top of the bed, across the pillows, then oozes himself between us. In winter, he oozes himself under the doona until just his nose is poking out at the foot of the bed.

Our 14yo Jack Russell sleeps in her own bed but she did sleep under the doona when she could get up on the bed by herself.

My dog sleeps on the floor next to my bed. My husband will not let him in the bed. He does crawl in with me every morning when my husbands truck leaves the driveway when he goes to work.

Our jack russell loves to sleep under the covers between us. She gets all huffy and annoyed when she has to get out of bed early so me and my partner can go to work. She loves a good snuggle.
