I need a good hard floor vaccum that doesn't create a blow back of dust, dirt etc?
I have cats and a dog, sweeping caused a lot of dirt to fly around. I have tile and hardwood floors that I would like to vaccum daily. This would be most rooms including the kitchen. I mop a lot so a dry/wet would be OK. Does any one have experience with a unit they like and can reccommend? I'm not looking for super expensive either, please.

If they are tile or hardwood, I wouldn't use any vacuum. I love my Shu Mop or the Libman mop that you can use dry or put ay cleaner or waxer you want in the canister. They run about 19.95 and rather than buy
additional brand name cleaning heads, I buy the microfiber cloths at the Dollar store. Wonderful on hard surfaces and gets up ALL the dust and dirt without putting any in the air. Just wash the cloths and by getting them cheap, you can keep a supply on hand.

dirt devil's canister vacs with the non beater head work very well for hard floors. the beater is what throws the dust and dirt back on hard floors, so you need something without one with good suction. it costs about 100 to 150 online. if thats to expensive for you just get a shop vac from lowes or home depot and use that.
