Can a teacher look through my phone or backpack?
Let's say that a teacher thinks I have weird pictures in my backpack can they check? Or if I have a phone and a teacher looks at my texts. Would that be illegal, also I live in Canada

Check your student handbook. It will say what rights a student does and does not have.

Idk how they do things in Canada. But a teacher is not allowed to look in your backpack or phone, unless they have a really good reason. Say if they feel or have been told that there is something in your bag that is a threat to them and the school students. But even then I don't think they can search it. I think they have procedures they have to follow and have someone with the authority to come check it.

I live in canada. No they can't do that. They can only check your stuff if you allow them to, but you need to speak up because they think kids are dumb and will just let them. Careful who you do it to though because what if they call your parents and then what are you going to do? "Sorry mom and dad you don't have my permission to look into my bag". Lol they probably bought the bag for you. Besides, what are you going to do sue your own parents? If so, goodluck because in canada you MUST have a lawyer and be 18+.
