This atheist vs theist hatred?

First off yes I am religious and Catholic. Second I do not understand why so many theists on these yahoo forums are being angry/ calling names/using religion to say atheist will go to hell etc. I do apologize at least for these comments. God's number one rule, I think, is to love everyone. Even if you don't want to follow this rule, you are not going to get anyone to accept or look into your religion by doing these mean things. This is from my religion but I do believe in what the new pope said that we should all be good no matter our faith: http://en.radiovaticana.va/news/2013/05/22/pope_at... On the other hand I have seen atheists say some sarcastic things that might be mean to some of the theists. I am not as sure about my religion as I have been as I was growing up (I'm 26 now) and have been reading a lot of articles on both sides. Instead of fighting I think maybe posting more debate topics and ideas would be helpful for everyone. Peace.

    I agree to a limit! There are so many young impressionable people on here, there needs to be a healthy dose of cutting their ignorance off at the knees. I try to salt and pepper my responces as to not just be called a hater because even though you answer their questions, they really don't want to accept the answers. I just pray that God will give me a word that will cause even one to open their eyes

    I do not dislike theists. I am a sarcastic person and I have not seen a single faith I do not have criticisms about, but I always go after the ideology. Not the person. I hope that is good enough for people. If not, my only way to avoid offending them would be to shut up. And I have no desire to do that.

    Sounds great, but we still think the Bible has cruel passages in it and that it's strange this would be so if it was inspired by a benevolent god.
