Is there a chance my friend will get into uni?
My friend has really bad grades to even try to get into uni but i wanted to know if he has a chance:
His applying for history BA and he has applied for 4 i don't know which though..
He got an E In gcse history
Failed maths and is repeating it for the 3rd time in year 14
He has an E in Btec level 3 ict
Has an AS grade of E in a level History and is taking A2 this year
He is also going health and social and the max he can get is distinction star which i doubt as i have finished 2 units myself so far this year out of 6 to distinction and on to my next 2 while he hasn't even finished the first two to even a pass.
Does it seem possible he has a chance to get into uni

Even if he did get into university with these low grades the university is going to be one of the ones where degrees are really low standard education and very easy to pass. I am not sure whether he has really thought about studying history for 3 years at a university that will eventually award a degree that isn't worth the paper it is printed on because of how easy it was to pass.
Not all degrees are the same level of education. They aren't like A levels where everyone gets the same qualification but with a lower mark. The degrees from low level universities those that accept Es at A level are much easy to pass and when someone has passed them they may have a level of education that wouldn't be quite high enough to start a degree at a top university.
History is a non vocational degree so it doesn't lead to a job of any sort. Going to university doesn't guarantee anyone a better job especially if the degree is from a bottom level university. With a non vocational degree there is a good possibility that he will get the same job as he would have done had he not gone to university. There is also the possibility that the level of education from a bottom level university will be so low that he could study to the same level on his own for free at his local library.

No. Uni's have more applicants than places so with those grades its unlikely he'd get an offer.
