How to start a youtube channel?
Me and my sister want to start a youtube channel. We want to do three kind of videos on our channel: Funny ones (both of us) DIY crafts (by her, since she's crafty) and book reviews (by me since I read allot). I notice that most youtubers are popular because they are either sexually explicit or because they swear all the time and people think that's cool.
I'm sixteen and my sister is eleven, so we don't want to put that kind of image out there. How should we start our channel? We are going to buy a good camera soon, and we've got plenty of ideas, like we might also do cooking, and my sister wants to make a video on how to make doll clothes. Should we start with something popular? Or like more of a presentation?
Any ideas would help! thanks!

As long as you aren't totally copying someone else's videos i'm sure people will like it..
but some popular videos today seem to be challenges such as
The smoothie challenge
Tin Can challenge
etc
Or for your first video you could always list 25 facts about yourselves or something like that so people who are watching your videos get to know you better.

for cooking,I like this http://www.youtube.com/user/RRcherrypie (is a DIY kit) cuz they make the video simple and clear to understand.If you are shy,you can put words on the video.But it also help me to do with my PowerPoint,cuz pictures spoke trillions of words(I'm quite person)

What I dislike is people who cook or baking,while mixing,they wasted the some flour,sauce (like big potion) behind when they done mixing cuz it make a bit hard to do washing..instead of throwing away or can reuse if not give other ppl to eat.some parts of the world don't have proper food to eat
btw some people hate that like talking too long...the viewer might get bored.
some cooker like to wear sexual but best wear modesty clothes and with apron.
another things is that don wear any accessories on the arm or finger due to hygienic.

Get good video quality it's very important!! Even if you are hilarious not many people will want to watch it if its bad quality. Watch poplar vids and notice what attracts you towards them and why people would like it. People like funny people so make your vids hilarious. And I think it'll be a good channel especially if you have a couple of things available.
