Jesus historical question about Jesus Christ and the resurrection?

What happened after the resurrection? There's no books in the bible about it. You would think that this would be his most miraculous act as savior and that he would continue doing his most important work which was building Gods kingdom on earth via the church. So what happened after his death and resurrection? This is one of the most glaring controversies in my opinion and its never talked about.

I'm assuming one of two things, that he was led into hiding and its possible that he never died. Claiming he resurrected himself was a way to avoid double jeopardy so that the Romans could tell the ruling jews that they did their job and carried out the sentence and punishment and could no longer punish him. The other is that he died and the claim of resurrection was made solely to carry on the building of his church.

The truth is that Jesus never died on the cross!

Because he only past out after about 3 hours and it takes any where from 3 to 9 days to died by Crucifixion! Just as the prophet Muhammad said in the Koran "they had misstaken him for dead!

And for their saying: We have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of Allah, and they killed him not, nor did they cause his death on the cross, but he was made to appear to them as such. And certainly those who differ therein are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge about it, but only follow a conjecture, and they killed him not for certain: Nay, Allah exalted him in His presence. And Allah is ever Mighty, Wise [Qur'an. Surah 4:157-158]

    Look up the swoon theory!

Assuming that the stories are true, Jesus ascended to Heaven after he was resurrected. His apostles then went out to spread Jesus' word across the country.

Christianity at this time was basically seen as a cult, so christians faced huge amounts of persecution from others, such as accusations of cannibalism and the like. Many christians were sentenced to death in arenas, eaten by animals or crucified. Even apostles ended up dying through these methods.

However, after many years, a powerful Roman ruler (can't quite remember his name) claimed to have had a religious experience, seeing a cross in the sun. After this, Christianity became much more accepted, though this ruler still believed in Greek gods and only converted on his death bed, the christians gained Sunday as their day of worship (as the man had seen the cross in the sun), and soon the Christians found themselves in positions of power, soon forming their empire.

(I'm sure I'm missing a lot of details and have some historical inaccuracies, forgive me for that)

    Bren,

There actually is some scripture about what happened after Jesus was risen. First, He was risen from the dead, and then He ascended into heaven. His ascension is what Ephesians 2:6 refers to: And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

You will get more answers to your question if you read Acts 1.

    1. He died on the cross (Matthew 27:50).

    2. They buried Him in a tomb (Matthew 28:60).

    3. The Holy Spirit raised Him from the dead (Matthew 28:6).

    4. Jesus ascended into heaven (Luke 24:51).

This will really help you to understand more scriptures. Write this list down because the thief cometh not but to still, kill and destroy. But, I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly (John 10:10).

Do you know what I meant by the thief? The thief is the devil. The devil will try to take what I just taught you, so please right down list.

God bless you!!! 1 JOhn 4:7 says, Beloved, let us love one another, for love comes from God, and whoever loves is born of God and knows God.

In spite of mangled feet, he was able to walk the distance to Emmaus.

In spite of what should have given Jesus agony, Thomas was able to put his finger into the wounds in Jesus' wrists and his hand into the spear thrust in Jesus' side.

These are not compatible with the idea that he survived the crucifixion. He died, resurrected himself, and guides his church through apostles and prophets whenever he thinks that people will listen.

The Bible clearly states that he went to heaven and is seated say the right hand of God.

Actually, after this, the book of acts picks up where the apostles ran around the ancient world converting people, performing miracles in Jesus' name, and starting churches.

You ought to google 'extra biblical evidence for Jesus.' they've found some interesting stuff about the early church.

His execution is actually briefly recounted from the point of view of the Jews, historians give brief synopsis of early Christian practices, that sort of thing...

You missed it......Jesus walked among the people after His resurrection for 40 days.....He had over 500 witnesses...the bible says that he performed so many miracles that the world would not be able to contain the writings if it were written down

"...There's no books in the bible about it...."

Actually, every book in the Bible beginning with ACTS until the end talk about the resurrection.

Additionally, The Book of Mormon has a lot to say about it too.
