Why do I have such a hard time with math no matter what I do?

My whole life I have struggled with math. There have been years when I have had tutors 6 days out of the week for hours and I'd go into school and fail the test. It just seems like my brain can't process math. Are there any people like this? I'm in college and it's a real struggle for me to pass math right now. I don't know what to do anymore. Nothing works. Studying, tutoring, ANYTHING. I can't give up. That's not an option.

Some problems can't always be solved with a calculator - and you have to do the thinking behind what to input into the calculator. Sure, you might not necessarily have to know how to divide decimals, but math isn't just about that.. I'm intrigued as to how far into your education you are (gcse level?) Because, you can drop math later in your school life anyway. But on a whole, I'd say math is pretty important (may be slighly bias - I love math ^_^)

Hey:) I always had trouble with maths, i just didn't like it and I didn't have a good grounding in it. When i found I had to use maths sometimes I put in a bit of extra work and managed all right. When i put my mind to it I could push though it, although I was never extremely good at it.

It sounds like you are scaring yourself into thinking you won't be able to do it but you might just need the right person to explain it. I'd say stick with a tutor, you could try a different one if you don't understand how another explains things.

When you sit down with a tutor don't sit down thinking this is hopeless, have a good mindset, keep calm and don't get frustrated if you can't understand something but just keep trying.

It might take a bit of extra work on your part but it will be worth it.

Try different methods of learning till you find one that works for you. Focus on one subject at a time, from your worst subject to your best.

And just try your hardest, that's all you can do, don't forget to be positive, drink water and take a break when you need to!!!
