What is the name of this Louisiana song about a voodoo queen?

There's a song that starts off

Down in Louisiana where the alligators grow

There's a voodoo queen named Louie Divo

I've been told the singer might be Bobby Bear but after my resent searches, I could be wrong. My main trouble is I think I have the queen's name spelled wrong. Her last name sounds like DEE-voe. It kinda like your trying to say diva but instead of ending it with an "a" you end it with an "oh" sound.

Other tid-bits of the song is about handsome Jack and either Jack wants to marry the queen or the queen wants to marry him. I forget, I've only heard it once.

Sorry, don't know, but your question reminded me of The Witch Queen of New Orleans

The voodoo queen your asking about is Marie Laveau. And the song your asking about goes by the same name and is by Bobby Bare. That song plays all the time on the radio in Louisiana around Halloween.
