Looking for a watch for my military boyfriend?

Suunto Core (All Black version), even better if you can get him a zulu strap to go with it (olive drab is my preference).

@Squid too bad the Suunto Core is incredibly accurate. I fly with one in case I punch out. I doubt a compass would gimmicky if you were lost.

Compass elevation and temperature are usually not needed and just gimicky things that aren't used.

Timex ironman and Casio G-shock are probably about the most popular. Basic rugged watches that don't cost an arm and a leg. Make sure it's basic black or grey, maybe army green.

The best option would be to take him shopping with you, pick up a few and see how he reacts.

I have a Bulova military watch. I've had it for about 5 years and I still wear it every day. The newest version is the Bulova Hack. Easy to read, nice big dial, luminous hands, fabric band, Not a cheap-@ss Timex but not so expensive that you would be pissed if you shattered it or lost it. I was hard on watches and usually they didn't last two years but the Bulova has been great.

Suunto X-Lander or Suunto Core is what are you looking for. They support many military functions such as Altimeter, Barometer, and navigation compass.

Actually there are many cheap alternatives, and it's lot cheaper. Brand like G-Shock is made good watches for military use. Check my resource link.

Seiko, it does not all the functions you want but is rugged and durable.
