  • Looking for a watch for my military boyfriend?

    Hi!

    I'm looking for a durable, functional watch for my boyfriend who is in the Army. I've searched the web but I'm not really sure which ones are good and which are junk. I'm looking for one that is very durable and comfortable, includes a compass, and if would love for it to show elevation and temperature. Oh, and no more than $300. Any help would be great!

  • Hydrogen Peroxide for bad dog breath?

    My family's dogs (Jack Russel Terriers, sisters, about 3 years old) have horrible, horrible breath. I have looked all over the internet for something to make it better, but I have either tried it and it didn't work, or it's really expensive. However, one site said that they pour a certain amount of hydrogen peroxide in their Jack Russel's water dish and their dog's teeth are sparkley white and no bad breath. Is this a good idea? Would it hurt the dogs digestive system? Any bad side effects, or good? Has anyone else tried this? Thanks for all your help!

  • Whose signature is on the hat?

    There is a commercial for VS. that shows a young kid with a Blackhawks ball cap that has a signature on it, and the commercial shows some clips of the Hawks through time while it shows the kid growing up with the game. At the end, it shows a clip of Patrick Kane scoring a hat trick goal and the now-grown kid throwing this hat on the ice. You know which commercial I'm talking about? Okay. Whose signature is on that hat? I think the last name starts with "Sau...". Thanks. :)

  • Anyone have info and tips on growing lemongrass?

    I recently bought lemongrass seeds and was wondering if anyone had grown this before. Is there anything in particular I need to know about growing lemongrass? I know it needs warm weather and should be brought inside over the winter if it freezes hard, so I was planning on growing it in a big pot. Will this work? How do you save the seeds? Thanks for all your help!

  • How to grow wild strawberries from seed?

    I recently bought wild strawberry seeds and was wondering how I should grow them. All I know is that they can be grown in pots or in the ground and that they need rich, loamy soil. So, what else do I need to know? Are they perennial like regular strawberries? Or are they annual? How do I save the seeds? The package says that cold stratification may improve germination. What does that mean? Thanks for all your help!

  • Earthquake boom? What?

    In Central Indiana today there was a 3.8 earthquake and right before the shaking happened there was a loud boom like a sonic boom. Has anyone ever heard or experienced this, and where were you? I've heard that this only happens near volcanoes, but, obviously, there are no volcanoes in Indiana. Is it true that it only happens near volcanoes? Thanks for all your help!

  • Gross dog question, what should I do?

    This is a pretty gross question. My sister's dog (a Jack Russel Terrier female, healthy, not fixed) drops her anal sacs often without reason. She doesn't get scared, she's not upset, and she's not playing. She just all the sudden gets up and starts licking the area she was sitting on and then it smells HORRIBLE, and you know exactly what she did. Why does she do this? I don't know a lot about dogs, but I know someone who does, so if you use technical or anatomical words I can find someone who knows what you're saying if I don't understand. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks for all your help!

  • Tell them to shut up?

    How do you tell someone they are talking too much without being rude or hurting their feelings or offending them? How do you tell them that you don't really care what they're talking about, or should I just listen to them and pretend like I know what they are talking about?

  • Panera Bread's chicken caesar sandwich?

    Does anyone know how to make Panera Bread's Chicken Caesar Sandwich? I know that there's sliced chicken (I think it's grilled), lettuce, tomato, red onion, asiago cheese, and a caesar dressing of some kind. Does anyone have the recipes for the bread, dressing, or chicken? Thanks so much!

  • Are there roster updates for NHL 11 for the PS3 yet?

    I tried to update the rosters on NHL 11 on my PS3, but it says there aren't any yet. Do I need to download something first before I can download new rosters, or are they really taking this long to get out new rosters? Thanks!

  • How do you say "It's a goal!" in Russian, German, Czech, Finnish, and Swedish?

    Please include pronunciations. Thanks. I'm a big hockey fan and just thought it would be neat to say "It's a goal" in the languages of the people that scored. : ) Seems silly but that's okay.

  • Best culinary colleges?

    I am looking for a good culinary arts college (cooking and baking, not hotel management and stuff). Somewhere close to Indiana is great, but if there's an awesome college elsewhere, please tell me about it. I went to the Art Institute of Indianapolis and it was a COMPLETE waste of money. The chefs were knowledgeable but incredibly unprepared and unorganized, the staff were friendly until you paid the bill and then they never returned your call, and it was very expensive. I've heard you can get the same education at Ivy Tech (a community college here) for $50,000 less. So, where is the best place to get a degree in culinary arts, why, and do you go there? Please, if you go there, name the pros and cons. Help me out please! I've looked all over the internet for hours! Thanks!

  • Substitute for these ingredients?

    I would like to make this recipe for Alton Brown's Protein Bars:

    * 4 ounces soy protein powder, approximately 1 cup

    * 2 1/4 ounces oat bran, approximately 1/2 cup

    * 2 3/4 ounces whole-wheat flour, approximately 1/2 cup

    * 3/4-ounce wheat germ, approximately 1/4 cup

    * 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

    * 3 ounces raisins, approximately 1/2 cup

    * 2 1/2 ounces dried cherries, approximately 1/2 cup

    * 3 ounces dried blueberries, approximately 1/2 cup

    * 2 1/2 ounces dried apricots, approximately 1/2 cup

    * 1 (12.3-ounce) package soft silken tofu

    * 1/2 cup unfiltered apple juice

    * 4 ounces dark brown sugar, approximately 1/2 cup packed

    * 2 large whole eggs, beaten

    * 2/3 cup natural peanut butter

    * Canola oil, for pan

    Directions

    Line the bottom of a 13 by 9-inch glass baking dish with parchment paper and lightly coat with canola oil. Set aside. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

    In a large mixing bowl, combine the protein powder, oat bran, wheat flour, wheat germ, and salt. Set aside.

    Coarsely chop the raisins, dried cherries, blueberries and apricots and place in a small bowl and set aside.

    In a third mixing bowl, whisk the tofu until smooth. Add the apple juice, brown sugar, eggs, and peanut butter, 1 at a time, and whisk to combine after each addition. Add this to the protein powder mixture and stir well to combine. Fold in the dried fruit. Spread evenly in the prepared baking dish and bake in the oven for 35 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 205 degrees F. Remove from the oven and cool completely before cutting into squares. Cut into squares and store in an airtight container for up to a week.

    I don't want to use protein powder or the tofu. What can I use instead of these? Thanks for your help!

  • Christian bands that sound similar to these bands?

    I'm trying to find Christian bands that sound like the bands listed below:

    Guns'N'Roses

    Stevie Ray Vaughan

    Boston

    Metallica

    Bullet For My Valentine

    Foo Fighters

    Kelly Clarkson

    Michelle Branch

    Any help would be great. I know that Christian music wasn't so popular in the 80's, so it'll be nearly impossible to find a Christian band that sounds 80's (except Petra). If you could add a link to a song or something that would be great too. Thanks!!

  • Can I do anything about the scratches on my cookie sheet?

    My cookie sheet was used to make pizza last night and the person using it cut the pizza on it. Now there are cuts in it. I don't think this will affect anything when I make cookies, but it really bothers me because they are brand new. I've used them once (and it wasn't for the pizza) and would love for those ugly scratch marks to magically disappear. Is there anything I can do to make the cut marks go away? Thanks for your help.

  • Demi-glace question. Please help!?

    I am about to make demi-glace. I have to make brown sauce, then add an equal amount of stock and simmer down to half that. This takes 2 hours, and I only have 1 hour. Can I take a short-cut by adding making brown sauce with double the stock, and then simmer it down to the right amount? Will that work or not? Thanks for all your help!!

  • My goldfish isn't swimming right. What's wrong?

    I have a black moor goldfish and today I noticed that he isn't swimming quite right. It seems like he can't reach the bottom of the tank. He swims as hard as he can straight down but he can't get to the bottom. He gets about 3/4 of the way there and that's as far as he can go. Then he quits and floats up to the top. His dorsal fin sticks out of the water while he swims around the top. I've also noticed that he swims sideways right before he starts swimming to the bottom again. What could be wrong, and how can I fix it? Thanks for all your help!

  • What is a good side dish for a BBQ?

    My family is having a BBQ party this weekend and we are trying to think of another side to go along with pulled pork and hamburgers. We have macaroni and cheese, baked beans, and a fruit tray as sides (including watermelon), but we would like to have another cold side, like a potato salad or something. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!
