The breast cancer survival expectation?
My dear old mum,who is pushing seventy, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
How survivable is breast cancer for women her age?
She had her first chemotherapy on Thursday,Doc. Frog. So I guess the sawbones deem it not beyond treatment.
Thankfully she's an active and fit woman and we live in Ireland, semi socialised healthcare.

Depends upon many, many factors.
let's talk staging first.
Staging is a collection of tests that identify the tumor type and whether or not it has spread or has the potential to spread.
From this, we learn if the cancer is operable, and if palliative care will be beneficial.

Her age is not necessarily a death sentence.
The survival rate has more to do with cancer type and availability of treatments than with age.
If she is otherwise in good health, she has a very real chance of beating this.

A lot depends on early detection, darling, but I know a surprisingly large number of women who are breast cancer survivors.
Her age won't be an issue if she's otherwise healthy - my grandmother was diagnosed when she was in her early 70s, was treated, and lived into her 80s with never another problem.
You know I wish her and you the best of luck with this!
