How to check RMS of a subwoofer?

Hey i was just wondering if there was a way to check the RMS of a subwoofer, my friend just gave me his old ones. They are 8" Rockford Fosgate "SP-208". I've googled it, and nothing came up. I've also taken it out of the box and looked and there are no ratings or anything. Can you use a ohmmeter or a multimeter to check?? Thank you!

Update:

Sundown- He doesn't know either. I forgot to add that in the description.

SP-208 leads me to this which is the sub and box combo.

The sub in the box is the S1 series. Here is the manual

It's an old school sub from the 90's and handles 100 rms. Those subs will either be a single 4 or 8 ohm coil which can be confirmed with a multimeter. As far as trying to figure out rms capabilities of subwoofers it's mostly a guess and can only really be determined by the manufacturers specs.

The RMS power rating in a subwoofer is a spec that tells you how much power the speaker can handle without risking damage. Unfortunately, the only way to test for this would be to keep applying power until the voice coil burns out or the suspension is damaged. I wouldn't recommend this.

You could always contact Rockford Fosgate directly if Ohmega's link isn't enough for you.

I think you have a misconception. RMS is a measurement of amplifier output; not speakers.
