1 Peter 3:21 makes it clear that Baptism saves us. Why do Christians holding to the traditions of men reject?
Gods word? Baptism....now saves you. The flood is a figure of baptism, in each case, water saves. The world was cleansed when Noah and his family were lifted up by the flood. Baptism cleanses and raises us to knew life. By grace, Baptism is a means of salvation through which the Holy Spirit produces faith (Eph 5:25-27). Luther: "Now Baptism is by far a greater flood than was that of Noah....Baptism drowns all sorts of men throughout the world, from the birth of Christ even till the day of judgment....(Noah's flood) was a flood of wrath, this is a flood of grace." We are forgiven and holy because of Christ. That forgiveness is applied to us in Baptism. The life we are given in Baptism was earned by Christ.
Baptism in Greek means that you are getting wet. That is what Baptism is "to get wet". There is no baptism apart from water. The only Baptism commanded by Jesus is to Baptize all nation in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is the sacrament of Holy Baptism.
In the baptism of fire Jesus is speaking of His coming crucifixion. There is one Baptism for the remission of sins. This is the sacrament of Holy Baptism. This is the one baptism commanded by our Lord. Leave the heresies of men and return to God's word.

Of course the Sacrament of Baptism saves us and washes us from all our sins, but that doesn't mean that if we mortally sin after that that we are still saved. It could be compared to me saving somebody from a great and dangerous fire-----yes, that person would have their lives saved by my saving them, but if they go back into the same or another great and dangerous fire, then they will not be saved again because they were saved the first time. When one repents to God of their sin, then the saving can begin-----we Catholics see the Sacrament of Penance (Confession) as a kind of second Baptism where we are again washed clean of our sins. It is also foolish to think that just because one is baptised, one is free to live any kind of life he or she would like. According to that way of thinking, a mass murderer could just go on savagely beating and killing people because, lo and behold, he or she has been saved by Baptism (or because they believe in Jesus.........................).

Wrong. That would make water the savior, and if that were so,
Jesus need not have had to die for your sins. Many people go
into the water a dry sinner and come up a wet sinner, if they
haven't accepted Jesus Christ.
Read Acts 10:44, where the Holy Ghost fell on all those in
Cornelius' house while Peter was still preaching to them. Then
they were baptized. The Holy Ghost comes with salvation, then
baptism.

No one but Jesus had authority to call into power, or action, the NAME OR AUTHORITY OF FATHER.
So in full obedience to Jesus, all of the apostles, early church BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, for the remissions of sins. Acts 2, 8, 10 and 19.
Romans 6, shows we are baptized into the DEATH of Jesus, raised to walk in the likeness of his resurrection = a new life. True Baptism is definitely part of salvation BUT IT MUST BE IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, for this is the ONLY NAME given among men, whereby we MUST BE SAVED.
Your idea of man using the name of the Father is wrong. That was only showing the authority by which Jesus commanded baptism.

Baptism of the Spirit is the one that transforms men's lives.
Water Baptism makes you wet. It is symbolic.

If Baptism saves us, then please, the next time you pray tell that to Jesus Christ and tell Him that He died on the cross for nothing. All He had to do to save us was to take a bath. Your statement and question flies in the face of everything Christianity stands for. Also, the entire passage does not say Baptism saves us at all.

Forgiveness is from God... His love, grace and mercy for us all, through what Christ has done and is applied to each individual by the Holy Spirit. The baptism this is referring to is of the Spirit.... vs. 18. The Spirit, like water, washes and purifies us. Water baptism is a public proclamation and representation of our changed inner condition, through the conviction and washing of the Spirit and of the word... born again... symbolic of our new birth as children of God. The act itself is not a means of salvation.
2 Thessalonians 2:13
But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
Ephesians 1:13
In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

You are "cherry-picking", a VERY bad habit among certain kinds of "Christians"!
Matthew 5:18 & Luke 16:16 make ABUNDANTLY clear that Jesus wanted you to continue to follow all Old Testament Law until His return....are you doing THAT? Do you keep Kosher? Avoid mixed fabrics? Do you follow the Kashrut laws?
Why do so many Christians (people like you!) seem to know so little about the religion you profess to follow?

First comes redemption by asking forgiveness of sins and accepting Christ as Savior. After that one can be Baptized.
Jesus promised the thief on the cross that he would be in paradise. He was never baptized.

Funny. I keep hearing it's "accepting Jesus". Is this some of the fine print that goes along with it.
