Why does someone here keep posting the long-winded lists of quotes by Democrats saying Saddam had WMD's?
Everyone knows Saddam Hussein had WMD's during the Clinton Administration. Clinton took some limited military action, which may or may not have had any effect, but at the time Bush ordered the attack on Iraq, a series of sanctions had certainly changed the situation, and the leader (Hans Blixt I think was his name) of the UN group charged with monitoring the WMD's in Iraq was satisfied enough with the progress that he strongly opposed any military action.
Reagan accused Libya of having WMD's, but when Khadafi was removed from power, no WMD's were found. Did Reagan lie, or was he deceived? Neither! Khadafi got rid of the WMD's (and admitted culpability for Lockerbie) because Libya's economy had declined due to sanctions.
Mongo, I don't question his or her right (although posting on Yahoo Answers actually is not protected under the First Amendment), I am just wondering why he or she keeps posting irrelevant and pointless material.

For the record, the question was about "someone"... not "soMEone".
Now, the fact is, we WERE lied to.
But since there is no way George W Bush could have come up with that stuff
-- or that Obama and half the Democrats in DC would have believed it regardless of WHO presented it
-- or that, IMHO (as a Texan who saw Bush for years as governor and know, bald-faced lying isn't among his human vices and weaknesses) Bush WOULD not and COULD not have knowingly (much less, convincingly) misled the nation,
---- THEN, clearly, somebody else lied.
THEN... Bush and pretty much everyone who heard it -- even in the highest positions in U.S. government -- believed the lie. And THEN, the presentation meant to fool the president, his staff, the congress, and the Citizenry of the U.S. as well as the world? Well it worked.
The real question is, who actually came up with all that high-tech cr@p?!

here ya go sheep boy
"Now let me be clear -- I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied UN resolutions, thwarted UN inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity. He's a bad guy. The world, and the Iraqi people, would be better off without him."

Perhaps that "someone" is posting from the USA, and simply exercising their perceived Freedom of Speech?

Bush lied to Congress and he lied to us. NOBODY thought a sitting president would ever lie about something like that. Well, we learned, didn't we?
