Is a tanning bed, when used moderately, bad for skin?

Is a tanning bed worse than me being out on the beach most of the day? I'm not fair skinned and do not burn easy.

Also, how long is okay to be in a booth for safely?

Yes. ALL exposure to UV radiation, whether from tanning beds, the beach or just casual exposure will all affect how your skin ages long-term. It's easily the worst thing for your skin.

Over 80% of the signs of skin aging is caused by UV exposure and could have been prevented.

People think that if they don't burn then they're fine. Yes burning can really increase your risk of skin cancer but they say any time the skin tans you're damaging your skin and increasing skin cancer risk. As a former tanning bed user I'd urge you not to ever start with tanning beds andju stlook aafter your skin and use fake tanners if you want a tan. The risks of getting a real tan just aren't worth it.
