Anyone have good recipe for tamale pie?

The same way I make shepherd pie even chicken pot pie without the crust but with mashed potatoes top. As for tamale, you can make use of cornmeal or have a cornbread mixture crumbles. I first brown minced beef to remove excess fat. (Taco beef fillings, basically) then add in chopped onions, garlic. Sweat the onion and garlic. Add corn, refried beans, chopped tomatoes and chopped jalapenos. Season it with cumin and oregano otherwise add 2 tablespoon of taco seasoning (depending on your quantity of beef) to coat the beef well. Season it with salt and pepper. If mixture too dry, add water to thin out. Pour the beef mixture into a baking dish. If you use cornmeal, you need to cook it. I like to use mashed potatoes like shepherd pie. Mashed potatoes add 2 beaten eggs, season with salt and pepper and spread the mashed potatoes over the beef mixture and baked at 350 degrees for 20 mins until the top brown.
