Help with gift for boyfriend?? (Guns)?

Christmas is just around the corner and I'm at a loss at what to get my boyfriend for Christmas.

I know that recently he got a ruger 10/22 rifle (I think) and I was thinking maybe I could get something for it for him. He loves that gun so I thought it was a good idea. He's said he has around 200 rounds so that's out.

Is there something for the gun I can get him or what else should I do??

No, NO, No, for a boy friend, or from my girlfriend I would want something permanent. Not something that you use up and gone like ammo. For guns you need some things to maintain them, and protect them. Does he have a rifle scope for it ? If not there you go, a rifle scope. Maybe some extra magazines.

How about some basic overall shooting accessories. Shooting glasses, and hearing protection. One of the nicest gifts I received from a girlfriend was a Remington .308 pump gun rifle. She died young of cancer. I value that rifle highly, because she was a great girl. ( and very pretty too )

How about an accessory box to keep all his shooting stuff in. I use them, one for extra parts, one for ammunition, and such. Mine are .30 caliber ammo cans. Military surplus. BUT, they have water tight gaskets on the lid. You could then even paint something cute on there maybe part on one can, and the punch line on the other.

Don't know how old you are or if you feel this inappropriate but, maybe on one can " In Case of Emergency ". The other " Grab Me ". Yep, that would always make him think of you. :-) Just saying. And who else but, your girlfriend/boyfriend would say that ?

You could also get him a nice knife for hunting, and cleaning game to eat. Maybe even find a custom knife maker and have a special one. I love custom knives. I have one made for me when I was a kid, from a REAL DEAL Indian chief. Was given to me when I was given my Indian name.. Another of my highly prized processions.

.22 LR ammo would be a great gift. Beware, .22LR is currently the hardest ammo to buy.

    Ruger BX-25 magazines.

Replacement trigger group. See link below. Listed as Hornet Custom SPITFIRE All-Black for Ruger 10/22. I use the trigger group on one of my 10/22's. Well worth the money. If this is too expensive, give him a 'bolt release." Example is listed as 10/22 Kidd Auto Bolt Release. Every 10/22 needs this devise.

BX-25 25 round magazines are nice. Extra BX-10 10 round magazines. Alangator BX-10 clamp to clamp 3 10 round magazines together making changing magazines faster- alternative to 25 round magazine in CA, etc, also lower profile than BX-25. yeah, another 200-250 round box of bulk ammo. Good Plano case or if the budget will stretch that far, a Pelican case. Laserlyte makes a red laser specifically for the 10/22 nidty little one fits right into the front end of the forestock.

Hey ur an awesome gf! My wife would never go do that lol. But he can never have too much ammo. Seriously 200 rounds is like an hour at the range. Got get him a box of 22lr 500rds. It can cost anywhere from 20-50 bucks if you catch it on sale. Any Federal brand would be good. Other then that im very picky about my "accessories" and i assume your man is as well. I know gift cards are lame but they are perfect for dudes who are picky about things such as cases and scopes etc. hope this helps

On a .22 you go through ammo fast, so 200 rounds is not that much. If they have .22lr ammo at your local walmart, I am sure he would appreciate more.

Some other suggestions (one of many places you can get these):

    40" Gun Case: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1366261463/ruger-...

    Extended magazine: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/238525/ruger-bx-2...

I know it doesn't seem personal enough but have you thought about a gift card? A gift card for Cabelas , Bass Pro shops,Academy Sports, etc. would allow him to get something he'd like for his gun. Personalizing a gun is...well very personal. A gift card would allow him to get something he really does want instead of something you just thought he might like. My wife and I exchanged gift cards one year. Later on we both agreed that we liked picking out something we really wanted instead of getting a gift we would have probably liked even though it wasn't what we really wanted. And if you can find him .22 ammo, buy it! 200 rounds is nothing. I shoot that much in one session.

What about a gift basket for a day at the shooting range? If the local shooting range has a fee, ask them about getting a gift certificate to cover it. Get a brick of ammo and a packet of paper targets, maybe a mix of bullseyes, animal targets, etc. Some foam ear plugs are useful, even if he wears shooting muffs.

A good case for the rifle would be nice. I got my husband a new one from Cabela's two years ago after his old one tore.

    Merry Christmas HoHo!!

Source(s): Make sure is it a rifle or shotgun - cases are different lengths.

I would suggest a cleaning kit for .22 caliber or a nice pair of shooting glasses, maybe a range bag, all of wich you could find at your local sporting goods store
