There is a product you can buy at most hardware stores called "Goof Off" which removes even old, dried acrylic paint from almost any surface. It will work on your sweater--it even works on carpeting. Quite a handy thing to keep around. Check at your local store for it, or search online for it.

You need to use something the PAINT is soluble in that the sweater is NOT...
