Can a dry cleaner clean a crocheted teddy bear?
I have this teddy bear I bought at auction. It's handmade, roughly 2.5 feet tall standing and its crocheted with button eyes. No idea what kind of yarn was used whether it was cotton, acrylic, or whatever. It smells horrible! It reeks of cigarette smoke. So seeing as I have no idea how to properly care for it since I don't know what type of yarn was used could a dry cleaner clean it, get rid of the smoke smell, and not ruin it in the process or would they need to know what sort of yarn was used to?

They could clean it
So could you in a wool wash. Just squeeze out as gently as needed and peg his ears to the clothes line.

you can wash the teddy bear yourself, no matter what it is made of.
after washing the teddy bear by rubbing soap water and plain water on it, put it to dry in hot sun.
