which way is the proper way?
should it be:
"And as I pointed out earlier," she said, pointing in his direction, "you all need to be respectful."
or should it be:
"And as I pointed out earlier," she said, pointing in his direction, "You all need to be respectful."

It's a continuation of a sentence, so no cap needed. Also, I must support lib.rare.ian in suggesting that pointing and pointed is one too many points.

Starts a sentence, finishes the same sentence:
"And as I pointed out earlier, you all need to be respectful."

Capitol 'Y', as in the second example.
May I suggest that you don't use both 'pointed' and 'pointing' in the same sentence?
How about 'glaring' in his direction?
