There are good people everywhere, and some of the best people I know happen to be Mormon. Are you asking about characteristics that specifically relate to their Mormonism? I've heard it said that nothing good about Mormonism is unique, and nothing unique about Mormonism is good. I'm all for the voluntarism your link highlights, but you know those numbers are skewed, right? If you follow the link to the study you'll see that 66.9% of Utah's service is "religious." New Hampshire's is 21.1%. For someone who doesn't buy into Mormonism, it's hard to see the community benefit to that. The every member a janitor program doesn't count the same in my book.

All people are good people when they regard the sensitivities and needs of others and assist them in ways that are moral. Mormons, as are all Christians, are expected to be good in the moral, legal, relationship, and other positive ways. That is what Mormonism, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, teaches its people.

They're like everyone else -- some good, some bad.

All of the Mormons I've ever met have been very nice people.

    Not sure...

"Utah tops nation for voluntarism 8 years running"

But last time I checked Utah also topped the nation for consuming pornography

It's all about the person. There are plenty of good Mormons I've met in my life. There are plenty of good people from any belief system. It's on a case by case basis, though.

I think that's great, but I'm interested to see the replies by C and the group who can't ever say anything good about the LDS church.

Yes. There are a very good group of people; devout, kind hearted, people oriented and unselfish.

Generally speaking, yes, they are good people.

We have bad apples in our bushel just as do other groups but I believe that they are few and far between. That has been my experience over 6+ decades.

No one can deny that a religion that promotes doing good for others is a bad thing, and Mormonism promotes doing good to others. That ='s a good religion.

We have good and bad nuts in every religion. Same with mormons, believe there are good as well as bad people.
