Battery dead after a new battery installed a few days ago.?

A week ago My battery was completely drained of energy, we had to get jumped three times before we got to a battery place. I know there's a voltage leak in the car somewhere. However, when we took it to an auto place they claimed the computer couldn't find where the voltage leak was. But I don't think they really thoroughly looked. What are some ways I could find where the voltage leak may be coming from and how can I resolve the problem?

If you feel your alternator is charging and you have an amplifier or aftermarket stereo installed i would check the red wire on your head unit need's to be hooked to a (Switchable Power Supply) one that power's on and off with a turn of the key.using a test light will help.Or it could be because you have your remote turn on wire from the amplifier in the wrong place, this also need's to be hooked to a (Switchable power supply). The Blue Remote turn on wire. Any auto part's shop will test your alternator for free.Auto Zone Advanced Auto Supply and many other's.It also could be a bad section of wiring in your harness track these wire's and look for visual sign's of wear. just a few idea's that may or may not help.If your not using a switchable power supply on a constant power supply for a remote turn on wire this will never let the Amplifier shut off when you turn the key off.It will suck a new battery dead overnight. No computer will find a short circuit, you have to track each wire down visually,So until you find the short take the ground wire off the Battery at night.

A computer cannot look for a drain. Something in your car is constantly on even when the engine is off usually from anything aftermarket installation.

Get a real mechanic to look for the drain circuit. Have your alternator checked too. It might be too weak to charge the battery.

There is a possibility that it is the starter. The starter can go bad and pull power from the battery constantly( I have this problem myself). I went to autozone and they said the same thing. The only way to know for sure is to get the starter replaced. Till then, if you plan on leaving your car for more than 12 hours, take the positive battery cable off. This will keep it from distributing power throughout the vehicle.

If it stalled due to a low battery while driving it, that is almost a sure sign that the alternator is not charging the battery.

Whether you have a drain on the battery is a whole different issue.
