Should I match my boots to a dress, or the dress to the boots?

Personally, I think the best idea would be to look up on pinterest "dresses and cowgirl boots" to get an idea of what you like, and put together some options. Then from there I would go looking for your dress and shoes. I would also go look for your dress first, because you may find something else in a totally different style that you like better in the process and real boots are pretty pricey, you wouldn't want to buy them and then change your mind. Also, (just a personal thought) your prom dress is a little bit more important then your prom shoes. Pinterest would be helpful though, I constantly use it for my outfit inspiration and it gives me an idea of what to look for.
