Nobody makes a double stack 45 in a compact- that I am aware of.

Isn't the kahr made in the USA? They have a small 45.

To insist in USA made makes it kinda tough. There are some awfully good guns made in other countries.

For instance.....Bersa Pro 45 "Ultra Compact" ( 7+1 ) is an excellent gun for about $450...if you can find one! They are made in Argentina and imported by Eagle Imports. I never heard of anyone who didn't like that gun.

Several countries use the Bersa Pro 9mm as their military side arm. These guns are hammer fired and have good da/sa triggers and a de-cocker safety.

The FNX 45 is made in the USA (I believe S.C.). Its a great shooter- but it is full size, and holds 15 rounds.

If you can find the older Taurus 945, its an excellent gun and is mid size.

My suggestion is that you go to a gun store and see what they offer. Think about it... My hands aren't the same as yours. The gun I recommend may not fit your hands.

So go check out what gun shops offer, and try to get range time with the guns. Then buy whatever you shoot best. Even if it's made in Brazil, because Taurus makes decent guns.
