Jehovah's Witnesses, If Jesus birth was celebrated on any other day besides Dec.25th?
would you celebrate it, and why? The angels celebrated it with songs and made sure we knew it happened. The JW'S use to celebrate it too until Rutherford made sure it wasn't, so what about a different day?
Why do people dance around a direct question. I could care less about Dec. 25th here folks...what about ANY OHER DAY??? That's that heart of the question so FORGET Dec. 25th for just one second and answer the question! We already know how you guys feel about that date...What about ANY other date?

Only if the Watchtower allowed it.
JWs used to celebrate Christmas and birthdays until Rutherford banned them. ..to distance JWs from mainstream Christianity.
If the ban was lifted, JWs would accept it and defend the new 'truth' as zealously as they do the current 'truth'

When the Bible Students (as JW's were called originally) first started their study and research of scripture they didn't know the origins of Christmas. When they learned the truth of these things they stopped. The Bible says that things are revealed progressively, not all at once.
Also, JW's wouldn't celebrate Jesus birth even if they KNEW the date as birthdays themselves are steeped in spiritism and the Jews of Jesus day didn't celebrate them either. There's nothing in the Bible of Jesus or any of his apostles or followers after Jesus went back to heaven celebrating his birth.
Jesus today is NOT a baby in a manger he is a mighty ruling king and that's the approrpriate way to think about him at all times. For more info on what Jesus is doing NOW see jw,org

But Jesus was not born on 25th Dec! There's precious little evidence he was born at all!
You say 'The angels celebrated it with songs and made sure we knew it happened.'
Then you get mad when we point out that they didn't!
The JWs maintain that there is no biblical imperative to celebrate Jesus' birthday. The 25ht Dec thing is largely irrelevant, although they point out - and for once they are correct - that the date has no Xtian connections but is more closely connected with a plethora of pre-Xtian celebrations.
The idea of a 'mass' for Christ's birthday came quite late into the church calendar, and was originally celebrated in the spring!

If Jesus or the apostles didn't think celebrating birthdays was of utmost importance, then we feel as they did. The apostles walked and talked with Jesus. They were friends of Jesus but never once did they celebrate his birthday or anyone's birthday. It was unimportant.
They did however celebrate the Passover or the Lords evening meal which some call the "last supper"
We are given the date to remember this occasion. Jesus said for his followers to do this and to keep doing it. The date given is Nisan 14 on the Jewish calendar.
Jehovah's Witnesses do as Jesus instructed every year on Nisan 14th.
Do you?

Rutherford rejected birthdays, christmas, politics, medicine, education, everything that would spit in the face of the honest folks that put him in prison (as he deserved)
Rutherford was an egomaniac. Christmas isn't rejected because its pagan, its rejected because Catholics celebrate it, and anything the Catholics do Rutherford would cut out the lives the Bible Students.
Interestingly, Rutherford had no problems with lawyers and alcohol. Thus he illegally smuggled in booze during the prohibition and sued everyone he could. To this day the WTS is extremely letigious, suing anyone for anything.
Hypocritically fighting for their right to free speech while attempting to silence their opposers with lawsuits.
At the end of the day, the only reason JW's do, say, believe or disbelieve ANYTHING, is because the GB tells them too. And if tomorrow the GB told them to accept the exact opposite of what they teach today, the vast majority would accept that as truth and shun any JW that didn't

It isn't the date that is the issue. It is the meaning behind celebrating his birthday. He does tell us to remember his death. The bible does not give the date of his birth, but we do know that Nisan 14 he died. Why would God give us the date of his death and not his birth? Because he did not want the idea of celebrating birthdays to overshadow the day of death. Look what happened anyway. Christmas has been more widely accepted as a holiday than the day that Nisan 14 falls. Every religion and every culture will celebrate this day. But Nisan 14 is not widely known nor acknowledge as much worldwide.
Think about it.

My direct answer is No. If Jesus didn't celebrate birthdays (an honoring of the creature over that of the Creator) why would any follower of his do so? And he did give very clear direction on what we are to celebrate.
(Luke 22:19, 20) 19 Also, he took a loaf, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, saying: “This means my body which is to be given in YOUR behalf. Keep doing this in remembrance of me.” 20 Also, the cup in the same way after they had the evening meal, he saying: “This cup means the new covenant by virtue of my blood, which is to be poured out in YOUR behalf.

JW's follow the teaching of the bible. We have no other doctrine. According to the bible, the only birthdays celebrated were those of wicked people. The only ones mentioned were occasions when someone was murdered to please the birthday boy.
The angels did not tell US. One announced it to the shepherds. The others then praised God for providing the ransom for mankind.
If God or Jesus wanted us to celebrate his birthday, they would have told us what day it was. The only thing Jesus asked us to celebrate was the anniversary of the covenant he made with his followers that provides the means for our salvation,

Jesus wasn't born on December 25. He was born probably around April. The reason why his birth was assigned theoretically on the 25 of December was because the period of Jesus' birth was during a holiday/festival called Saturnalia, so in order to make the festival have a religious background, this is why they assigned his birth on the 25.

Who doesn't rejoice when a baby is born! Hooray! Yet, the angels didn't keep rejoicing every year! That was a poor argument.
