Would these work on Standard Tube TVs?
I am wondering if something like the, Samsung BD-E5400C Blu-ray Player with Apps & Wi-Fi, would work on a standard sized Tube style TV... You know the "square ones" ...
According to specifications that bluray player supports 1080p/I to 480p/I... I'm unsure what the resolution is for my TV...
Also could that type of blu-ray player support video files from a USB drive?
Lastly, if so, what formats?
Links and related information articles would be useful too.

It will work if the player has rca inputs. If not you need a hdmi to rca adapter however blu ray on a tube tv is a waste because it won't be in hd unless the tv is a hdtv.

Hi,
Most standard tube TV's are not High Definition capable (only some projection types are). You could use a SCART or the Red/White/Yellow connectors into the TV. You won't see any difference between a Blu-ray film and a standard film at all.
Most Blu-ray players can play video files off a USB but they are pretty fussy with file formats, resolutions and bitrates. Your best bet is to view an online manual of the player you intend buying and see if it plays the most common formats. You may find it differs from model to model. I have a BDP-S370 which is a few years old and it'll play most video files up to 1920x1080@30 fps as long as it's under 4GB in size.

No. That Blu Ray player only has an HDMI output. Your tube TV does not have an HDMI input.
