The first thing to learn in this game is observation/accuracy.
On Yahoo Finance it doesn't say Whitbread shares are £3,633 does it?
Take another look and you will find it just says 3,633 (well 3,652 now)
UK shares ALWAYS in pence
US shares always in dollars and cents
European always in eoros and cents.
So Whitbread are £36.33 each.
Easy!

UK stocks on the LSE are quoted in pence so WTB are 3633p i.e. £36.33p unless alternative currency price is mentioned e.g. Euros or $ with the price.
