Can high blood sugar or high A1C cause coughing in a type one diabetic?

    Hi there. The answer yu have already been given is totally correct - coughing does not itself cause high blood sugar . . . HOWEVER . . . . if you are a bit under the weather due to a cold, which in your case might well just be shown as a cough, then your blood sugar might have gone up due to being a bit ill. If you are asking due to you being diabetic yourself, and wanting to know a bit due to only recently starting, then I can guarantee I know through experience. I have been diabetic, type one, for about 35 years now.

    Coughing and Diabetes are not interrelated. Diabetes does not cause coughing.
