The housing my laptop charger plugs into is all messed up (PICTURES)?

Can a computer repair place fix this and can you estimate the cost?

Okay so if you want the details they are going to be down here.

I bought this computer off HP's website about 4 years ago, opening and closing it often caused the screw on the bottom side to create a hole where the housing for the charger plug in. So over time the laptop just had a weird little gap there that got bigger and bigger until now it just opens a lot and the housing is like hanging out because all the pieces on the side broke that hold it in.

It's still working but I know eventually if someone trips on the cord or something it will just tear right out.

I have repaired hundreds of laptops and from what i got from what you wrote, you believe that opening and closing may have caused your laptop to begin breaking apart which sound to me like a hinge problem and if you don't correct it with any new part you put on you laptop will eventually result in the same problem . Search ebay and you should be able to find all the parts needed to repair your laptop to good condition. i have done that in the past many times. it sounds like you need a new base and new keyboard/palm rest cover. you don't need to buy them new you will find many good condition used part and spend half the money or less on getting your parts. Ebay:used computer/ laptop parts and your laptop model number. many different laptops from the same manufacturer use the same parts but listed with different part numbers. you should be able to do a web search with the part number you find and it should list the different laptops that part works for. i would say you wouldn't spend more than $30 dollars with shipping for those parts including shipping. they are really easy to repair and you can find videos on line to help you repair it you self. it would take a computer store about 30 min to repair and probably those same used parts i mentioned on ebay but will charge hundreds of dollars to fix it.

Base, keyboard/palm rest cover, hinges and power socket.

Amazon also has those same parts but i don't care too much for amazon, but hve also used them to buy parts in the past.
